Villa Belong Dua is an enchanting two-bedroom luxury Bali villa. It’s located right in the heart of the tiny fishing village of Seseh on the island’s southwest coast and resides on 1,600 square meters of land surrounded by a beautifully walled garden. The 20-meter swimming pool is the central focal point of this traditional property which features symbolic elements of Balinese culture.
A series of five individual pavilions offer stylish interiors which are enhanced further by a mix of modern appliances and antique furniture. Not so long ago, stone water vessels, called belongs, could be seen in every Balinese household which were used for storing drinking and washing water. And this is where the name of this luxury Bali villa originates from. Some of these historic artefacts, are used and showcased within the grounds of the residence. A traditional thatched barn, once a symbol of status, has also been converted into a children’s playhouse.
Relatively new, yet built using time honoured Balinese design, Villa Belong Dua offers you the luxury of space, comfort and total privacy in two charming pavilions. You’ll have open-sided living and dining areas, all encircled with a delightful walled garden, featuring a 20-meter swimming pool. Facilities include and LCD satellite TV and DVD player, three iPod stations and wifi. And a well-equipped modern, western kitchen will be expertly used by your very own resident chef. This Bali villa is located in a traditional village lane, which is well lit at night. A pathway provides walks to the river, rice fields and Seseh beach, which is only 300-meters away.
An imposing replica of the Angkor Wat temple gate in Cambodia marks a grand entrance to this luxury Bali villa. Upon entering a whole new world is revealed with lily pond, bubbling water feature and Balinese statues. True to traditions, each room within this peaceful residence has its own detached space. Open-sided, fan-cooled living and dining pavilions overlook stunning tropical gardens and the pool whilst the media room and two en-suite bathrooms occupy their own individual pavillions. Bedrooms. This Bali villa rental comprises two bedrooms in stand-alone pavilions, named Menaga and Bangkat. These names originate from when the village of Seseh was much bigger.
Each room features a terrace which is beautifully lit at night with colonial-style bell-jar lanterns and furnished with an antique daybed. Sliding doors lead to your fan-cooled bedrooms with cream walls, wooden floors and soaring roofs. Each is complete with king-size four-posted bed with netting. And you’ll have a wall-mounted LCD TV screen with satellite TV, DVD player and iPod dock.
Delightful air-conditioned en-suite bathrooms are decorated in earthy tones and fitted with a sculptured terrazzo bathtub for two. Double washbasins face a window. Glass doors can be fully opened for a semi-alfresco bathing experience, complete with outdoor rain shower, set within a private walled courtyard. A circular skylight channels light (and moonlight) into the space. An additional single bed with mosquito net can be assembled in Bangkat on request.
Indoor living – Living pavilion and media room
The living pavilion is located close to the Bali villa’s entrance. It overlooks the garden and pool. A vaulted roof, supported with eight pillars, covers a beautiful space furnished with an oversized daybed and a low Javanese dining table. A large mirror reflects a sunlight garden and the whole pavilionis lit at night. The media room, situated behind the living space, doubles as an office and is furnished with built-in speakers, a soft leather sofa and satellite TV, DVD and iPod doc.
Dining room and kitchen
The semi-open dining room shares a pavilion with the kitchen. The two rooms are linked by a bar which can be closed for privacy. The dining room is furnished with an antique table, six chairs and an antique wooden chest on wheels, known as a gerobog, originally used for storing rice. The space is cooled by ceiling fans as well as natural breezes and uses electric blinds on its open sides. A washroom is located to one side of the dining room. And a fully equipped kitchen is available for use by the Bali villa staff or guests.
Mature trees, coconut palms, frangipanis, lemon and mango trees, pineapple plants, ginger and lemongrass all add up to create a stunningly fragrant garden at Villa Belong Dua. It’s surrounded by a rustic wall which has been crafted using crushed paras stone and painted.
A dazzling 20 x 4 meter swimming pool is the garden’s central focal point. It’s lined with slate and has a statue of a Budda’s head at one end. There is a shallow end, ideal for the kids. And a stone decking is furnished with sun beds and umbrellas. An outdoor shower provides a cool refresher from the midday sun. Beside the pool is a traditional Balinese balé. Fitted with two built-in timber beds and stools, it’s the ideal spot to enjoy a massage or take an afternoon nap.
