They say Rome wasn’t built in a day. And neither was this spectacular 5-bedroom luxury Bali villa rental property. It took 5 years to design and create and upon entering the villa you tend to understand why. Residing on the island’s south-west coast in Canggu and set within sprawling tropical gardens, individual living and bedroom pavilions make Kudus the perfect option for families or close friends who demand 5-star sophistication and comfort. Restored traditional Javanese joglo structures have been decorated with handpicked art and antiques that ensure the interior of this property is nothing short of extraordinary.
The additional plus is that it’s just 2-minutes from Berawa beach which has a selection of quaint cafes and beachside restaurants. All provide both local and western cuisine. And Echo Beach, the region’s favourite, will show you how a BBQ should really be done. Small designer fashion boutiques have also popped up close to the cafes. The sheer devotion that has been put into this luxury Bali villa can be admired throughout. Some of its structures are well over 150 years old but have been restored to their natural beauty. Art and antiques have been sourced from Asia and Russia and plush sofas, chandeliers and oriental rugs combine with state-of-the-art conveniences such as a fully equipped kitchen and a large flat screen TV.
You’ll have space aplenty to relax and recharge, either by the pool on one of the loungers or in a shaded spot in the garden. You can always arrange a private massage of course or just catch a poolside nap in the bale. Whichever spot you choose to unwind, the villa’s professionally trained staff will always be discreetly on hand.
The beach is literally a few minutes walk away so if surfing is you’re thing this really is one of the most renowned surf spots. And no visit to Bali would ever be complete without some holiday snaps of some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world.
A short stroll along the beach will take you to some fabulous beachside restaurants, with Kudeta perhaps being the pick of the bunch. La Lucciola and Potato Head are also worth a visit around sundown. If walking sounds a little too strenuous then the villa staff can hire a car and driver. By road, Seminyak is just 15-minutes drive, with its eclectic mix of cafes, restaurants, boutique shops, spas and bars. You’ll also have a complimentary membership to the Canggu Club, Bali’s most prestigious colonial sports and leisure center.
Crossing the threshold of this magnificent luxury Bali villa via its Balinese Hindu temple doors and over the goldfish pond, you enter a very different and very serene world. The main joglo is an enormous, air-conditioned pavilion which houses the lounge, dining area, bar and entertainment area. Completely surrounded by glass doors, you’ll have views across the garden and pool, with an additional raised terrace offering the perfect spot for open-air dining, with the kitchen below. Two of the five bedrooms are housed in one joglo and overlook the garden, whilst the master bedroom and two additional suites form an L-shape around the swimming pool.

You will certainly notice the amount of light and space that pervades the enormous living pavilion at Villa Kudus.Enclosed by glass doors, the pavilion can be fully opened up to allow you to get the full tropical effect. At the center of the pavilion a magnificent pair of chandeliers hang above two large sodas and four armchairs, which encircle a coffee table, crafted from boat timber. Wooden beams are softly draped with flowing white fabric whilst an intricately carved ceiling represents the seven levels of heaven.
A solid teak dining table accommodates 10 guests, adjacent to the bar area. And on the other side a freestanding bookshelf separates the TV area, with a 46-inch plasma screen and a whole host of DVD’s. If you, your family or your close friends fancy a cocktail then cocktail hour can basically be at any hour. The bar has a double fridge unit, anNespresso coffee machine and more than enough glassware to go around. The piece de la resistance here is the dumbwaiter, which transfers food from the kitchen below. The kitchen within this luxury Bali villa is lined with walls of Indian stone. Two glass doors ensure that it’s bright, cool and airy. And guests can perch on one of five bar stools for an informal snack, chat and drink.
On the stone terrace, adjacent to the living pavilion, an outdoor dining table also seats ten guests. It’s the perfect spot for alfresco dining, whether it’s a long lazy lunch or a beautifully prepared dinner. And you must take full advantage of the BBQ facilities to sample some of the island’s fresh seafood or local satay. After lunch or dinner, you’ll have plenty of options for a nap or to carry on the conversation away from the table. The tradition bale is perfect for a massage or you can select anyone of the sun loungers by the pool or up on the verandas. And then of course there’s the L-shaped couch and coffee table, shaded by an umbrella.
