Villa Majapahit Nataraja
Situated on the eastern side of Bali and overlooking the island of Nusa Penida, this Bali villa is surrounded by rice fields, tobacco plantations, papaya, banana and coconut plantations. As you can imagine, Nataraja Villa offers a truly authentic tropical experience. And you’ll be a stone’s throw from the sea.
Although the residence is set back slightly from the beach, you’ll be able to enjoy the most spectacular views of the ocean from the upper floor, with a 13-metre stretch of beach allocated exclusively for use by Villa Nataraja and neighboring Villa Raj guests. The residence comprises a two-level main building which houses three bedrooms and a central living space. From here you’ll see a lush garden with a private swimming pool, massage pavilion and Balinese balé. All offer the perfect spot to unwind and recharge. Landscaping and architecture use traditional Balinese methods and materials, synonymous with local philosophy and symbolism. Inside, a sophisticated décor, local art and a mix of modern and antique furnishings provide a taste of what these mysterious and wonderful islands have to offer.
The property can be rented as a two or a one-bedroom unit, ideal for a smaller group or small family. An appropriately adjusted rate can be agreed upon beforehand.
The master suite occupies the whole of the upper level. Air conditioning as well as a high-pitched roof provides cool and comforting airflow. The room is furnished with a king-size bed, desk and chair. You’ll have satellite TV, a DVD and CD player. Stone brick forms a decorative wall behind the bed whilst glass doors open out at the front onto a timber decking area. Here, you’ll be able to relax on a sofa and loungers whilst looking out towards a spectacular coastline and ocean.
An en-suite bathroom, fitted with a corner bathtub, shower and twin washbasins, has two separate dressing and washing areas. These are accessed by two different doorways from the bedroom and linked by a covered, semi-open-air walkway. The walk way is decorated with fretwork screens.
The villa’s two air-conditioned guest rooms are located downstairs. They mirror each other exactly. Both are accessed via magnificent carved timber doors and both have timber flooring, a king-size bed, desk and chair as well as satellite TV, a DVD and CD player.
Dressing rooms are situated behind the bed whilst glass doors open out onto the front terraced area that is furnished with two loungers. Each semi-open-air bathroom is flanked by a staggered wall underneath a pergola roof and each includes a triple-tiered running water feature with hidden lighting, which illuminates stunningly during the evening. Each bathroom is crafted in a dark grey terrazzo stone and fitted with twin washbasins, sunken baths and rain showers.
The fan-cooled living and dining areas border the swimming pool. They also feature timber flooring as well as folding glass doors front and back that can be opened to fully appreciate your tropical living experience. A plasma screen, satellite TV and music system provide the entertainment whilst WI-FI comes as standard.
You’ll definitely want to try the sunken Jacuzzi that extends into the living space and overflows into the pool. A seating area here is furnished with two deep rattan sofas, tables, a wooden chair and an antique coffee table facing towards the pool and garden. Beside the fishpond, the dining area is furnished with a table and six cushioned cane planter chairs. Colorful artwork adorns the walls and a semi-spiral floating staircase acts as another striking focal point. On the far side of the pond, situated within a pebbled courtyard, is a stand-alone fully equipped kitchen. You’ll have your own resident chef who will make use of all modern appliances to prepare meals at any time of the day or evening.
Villa Nataraja’s tropical garden is dominated by a 13-metre swimming pool that is lined with green java stone. At one end of the pool you have a massage pavilion with a high thatched roof and at the other end, a balé with white billowing drapes with built-in cushioned seating. You’ll also have outdoor showers and four sun loungers with umbrellas surrounded by palms, pandanas, frangipanis and flowering shrubs and plants.
A walled pathway leads from the garden to a 13-metre, beach side buff with timber decking and stones steps to the beach. This area is shared by guests staying at Villa Raj who will no doubt also want to chill out on the large wooden sofa beneath the tall coconut palms whilst admiring a spectacular coastline and the island of Nusa Penida. Fully trained staff and an excellent chef will tend to your every need yet they will also remain discreet throughout your stay.
