Villa Description

Villa Malaathina is, without doubt, one of the finest luxury Bali villas on the island. The sheer size and expanse of this 5-star property is the first thing you notice as you enter, with an enormous private lap pool being the central focal point.

You’ll be right in the heart of it all too, with just a short stroll into the center of Seminyak and some of the best fashion boutiques, spas, restaurants and bars available.

Malaathina really pushes the boundaries in terms of luxurious holiday residencies. It’s conveniently located just half an hour from Bali’s main international airport. And within a short drive to most other island attractions.

Given the size and scope of the property, it is perfect for larger groups and gatherings. Special occasions such as yoga retreats, weddings, birthdays and even corporate events are a common occurrence. And with an outstanding group of professionally trained staff, Malaathina is one of the most sought after residencies.

This luxury Bali villa has been created with 7-bedroom suites and a 25-meter private pool, occupying a total area of over 5000 square meters. You’ll even have your own coffee shop as well as a teppanyaki-grill dining feature. A gymnasium provides the latest equipment. And the vast open space, beside the pool, is perfect for early morning yoga sessions. The roof of the property also comes with seating within specially designed pods that make it ideal for watching Bali’s glorious sunsets.

The villa’s owners have specifically designed and developed an estate like no other, with group or family retreats being the main focus. This residence really should be shared and experienced together. Its proximity to some of the island’s most popular tourist spots is the cherry on the cake and yet you’ll still have the quiet and calm of age-old rice terraces and the rustic lifestyle that exists beyond the confines of the property.

Rich dark timber flooring is common throughout 5 suites and combines and contrasts with light marble. Pitched roofs create additional space and an airy feel. Each suite is fitted with a large TV, a DVD player, a Bose sound system and an iPod docking station. Beds are all King size with the finest King Koils and soft white linens. Pillows are apparently very popular talking point amongst guests. All suites can be shared as twin rooms if necessary. And each bathroom comes with twin washbasins and a slightly raised bathtub. A bedroom-come-living area also has a study with an outlook towards those lush, cascading rice fields. And an additional private terrace makes for a tempting spot to settle into enticing day beds.

Deluxe rooms
Two other suites complete this 7-bedroom residence. Both have been carefully designed with an eye for detail, with simplicity being the aim. And both come with Queen beds that can easily be adapted to twin beds for children for example. Essentially, all 7 suites provide the option to change to various combinations so whatever the occasion and whatever the number of your group we (as well as the villa staff) will find a way to accompany everyone comfortably.

Indoor living
With such an outdoor expanse and such a vast pool, many guests opt for spending their time outdoors of course. But if things get a little too warm you do have the option of full air-conditioning throughout – in the dining areas, the bars and the living rooms. Dining indoors simply isn’t a problem.

Residing in the wing-part of the villa, you are just a few short steps to the principal building and the pool. And as you can see in the photographs the enormous glass doors can be kept open or closed, depending on the tropical heat. A huge one thousand year old timber dining room table easily seats up to 14 guests, which the staff will be more than happy to dress and arrange for a special dinner or lunch. And candles and lighting will add to any wonderful event.

An onyx bar surrounds the main bar area with local natural stone lit at night. Additional furnishings create the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks and an area to chat. Rest assured, the villa staff can also prepare a mean cocktail!

A silver and black theme runs through the main living area, giving the impression that you could actually be in New York or Paris or London perhaps. However, a quick glance outside and you’ll be swiftly brought back to the magical residence that is Malaathina with your loved ones.

Kudeta, Potato Head, Metis and Sardine all offer fabulous food should you wish to dine out, with each providing a very different ambience – from serene rice field settings to staggering sunset and ocean views.
