Villa Ombak Putih
This luxury Bali villa is unrivalled in terms of its sheer size and beauty. Stunning interiors, painted pure white throughout, contrast sharply against vibrant tropical greens and the dark blue of a cloudless sky outside. Upon entering though, it is the expanse and space that takes your breath away, with an enormous 30-meter private swimming pool taking center stage.
Bali villa rentals don’t come much better than Ombak Putih, with some of the most spectacular ocean views imaginable from the rooftop terrace. Five elegant individual bedroom suites offer complete comfort and privacy whilst a sunken poolside lounge provides a different kind of relaxation altogether.
Situated within a stone’s throw from the beach, close to the village of Cemagi on Bali’s southwest coast, you’ll be within easy reach of the island’s other attractions. Seminyak, with its vibrant café culture and vast selection of restaurants and bars, is less than an hour away and Ubud, renowned for its arts and crafts, is a little further north. And one of the most revered temples, Pura Gede Luhur Batungaus, is less than 5-minutes stroll. So, even though you have total privacy and peace and quiet amongst the cascading rice terraces and serene Balinese village lifestyle, the action is not too far away.
The first and second suites are located upstairs in the main pavilion. Both are very similar in terms of look and style and both have been created with a keen eye for details. Huge enlarged images from the owner’s travels decorate those white walls. And white soft linens also contrast sharply against a hardwood flooring. A high ceiling ensures the rooms remain cool, especially at night.
Those views are not only visible from the upper terrace. Each morning you awake in your king-size bed the Indian Ocean will be the first thing you see. Plus, whenever you take a soak in the sunken bathtub, you’ll be able to look out towards the horizon, with the bathrooms themselves having a nautical theme. In contrast, large dressing areas, meanwhile, face away towards the rice terraces and a distant volcano.
In between the master suites, a large sitting area is situated under a white skylight. Glass doors open out onto a furnished stone terrace, providing yet another angle to see those ocean views as well as the gardens and pool below. The first guest suite is slightly further away from the main pavilion, just beyond the pool. Two sliding glass doors, which lead onto a stone terrace, let in natural sunlight. And from here you can look down towards those manicured lawns and two very tempting hammocks. A king-size bed is slightly raised on a plinth whilst two comfortable chairs, a large white wardrobe and a semi-open outdoor bathroom with monsoon shower and bathtub make up the rest of this beautiful suite. Make sure you take a soak at night, under the stars.
The second guest suite is also situated within the garden, next to the wild grasses, further along the pathway. Sliding glass doors open to a timber decking area, allowing those natural sea breezes in. Furnishings include a white-painted king-size bed and two dark wardrobes. A large lamp, a traditional Indonesian totem and a unique zebra-styled chair sit below an enormous picture, depicting tropical fish. And the en-suite bathroom comes with a sunken open-air tub and shower.
Guest bedroom three is situated at the bottom of the garden, amongst the palm trees within a small forest setting. A king-size bed has a traditional wicker lamp either side and with two wardrobes providing ample storage space. Additional large Indonesian images add splashes of colour and an open-air bathroom has been created with a water feature and a monsoon shower.
Living, dining and kitchen
In the main pavilion of this luxury Bali villa rental, the living area is furnished with two sofas, chairs and an antique coffee table. A 46-inch TV with satellite channels and Blu-Ray disc player offers alternative entertainment.
The kitchen and dining area are separated from the living area by a central foyer. A long suar timber dining table seats ten guests and is beautifully lit by three unique hanging lanterns with bamboo shades. From the photographs you’ll also notice a montage of ocean abstracts hanging at the far end, whilst tribal shields from Papua adorn the adjacent walls. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors provide garden views and lead out towards the pool and terrace area. The kitchen island is also lit by three lanterns and comes with four wooden bar stools.
The sunken pool lounge will undoubtedly feature prominently during your stay at Villa OmbakPutih. It really is a favourite with most guests. Open on three sides, it comes with its own kitchen area, washroom, a wooden bar, antique loungers, stools and a large sofa. You’ll have enough space and seating for everyone. Upon the rooftop, you’ll also have additional sun loungers, providing another spot to admire that world-famous sunset. You might even indulge in a chilled glass or two.
There’s also an alfresco dining area next to the pool and patio area which is furnished with two couches. A large dining table seats ten guests and provides yet another perfect place for dinner when the temperature drops a little.
The lawns stretch for what seems like an eternity. Meandering past the enormous pool, frangipanis, palms and lilies, guests will enjoy a lovely short stroll to their bedroom suites. The water from the pool cascades down towards another smaller pool, beyond ornamental grasses and flowers and on towards a forest of palm trees.
In short, this has to be one of the most luxurious of Bali villa holiday homes. With an almost grandeur feeling about the property, it really will feel like a dream upon entering the residence. And although the photographs provide an idea of how stunning Ombak Putih is, the reality is, by far, even more spectacular.
