Villa Pangi Gita
The luxury Bali villa of Pangi Gita sits within the quiet and sleepy district of Canggu. You’ll be surrounded by lush, green cascading rice fields as far as the eye can see, interrupted only by the Pangi River that flows aimlessly through this rural village.
With three bedroom suites designed and created to fit within the villa’s immediate surroundings, you will experience a different kind of relaxation, peace and privacy. Furnished with traditional as well as other Asian antiques, you’ll experience the most authentic tropical holiday. Serene gardens and fishponds will certainly add to the effect.
Warm and friendly villa staff will cater to your every need, though rest assured, each member is discreet to the point that you’ll hardly notice them during your stay, apart from when they prepare and pass you a cocktail or two.
This Bali luxury villa is perfect for families and close friends and its ‘Garden of Eden’ look and feel will delight everyone, especially the children. Couples will also feel at home in what is one of the most secluded and yet secure residencies.
The local environment and age-old traditions have remained intact and this luxurious holiday home blends well into its exotic surroundings. Individual pavilions have been created with solid teak and terrazzo flooring. High ceilings with traditional shingle roofs ensure the residence is airy whilst large glass doors open out to vibrant tropical green plants and shrubs. The owner clearly has an eye for detail as local antiques and furnishings ensure a unique living experience.
Water is a vital part of the island of course and Pangi Gita takes its name directly from this key element. Gita literally means song whilst Pangi is the name of the local river that flows past the property. The singing Pangi River will provide a distant echo of running water whilst the sound from other water features, fountains and ponds create the most relaxing of atmospheres.
Each pavilion is cooled by a ceiling fan and air-conditioning so room temperatures remain comfortable, even during the hottest of days. A large satellite TV and DVD player will provide a break from the pool activities and you’ll have a traditional Balinese bale (or gazebo) that overlooks a spectacular private swimming pool at the river’s edge.
Should you fancy exploring the surroundings, a pleasant stroll through the village and rice terraces is certainly worthwhile. And Echo Beach, the local, renowned BBQ restaurant offers some of the best food in the area. The local band who play there on a Sunday evening are also worth watching.
Designed and developed by the creators of the Four Seasons Hotel, the residence uses a combination of traditional architecture with modern touches and the beautifully landscaped garden is another standout feature.
You will enter the luxury Bali villa rental via traditional carved wooden doors, which take you through to a stone staircase. Intricate murals have been crafted by local artists on one side whilst a water feature is located on the other side.
White staircases and stepping stones allow you to wonder across the manicured lawns, past wonderful flowers and shrubs and fishponds and onto the three-bedroom suites, a central living pavilion, a study and the dining area. A little further is the swimming pool by the edge of the river.
The master suite within this Bali luxury villa is located next to the river. It’s the perfect honeymoon retreat and provides just that little more privacy. A carved Queen-size bed has been covered with fine mosquito netting and polished teak flooring, high ceilings and glass doors offer a traditional yet supremely comfortable residence.
The en-suite comes with terrazzo cream floors, his and her vanities, an oversized bathtub, a message table and a walk-in shower. And the special feature is the hidden balcony, accessed via glass doors – the perfect private spot for a massage or spa.
This room also has an enormous walk-in dressing area, a favourite with the ladies, and plenty of hanging space. A flat-screen TV, a DVD player and stereo all provide a welcome respite from the day’s activities.
Behind the main pavilion are two guest suites, also featuring polished wood flooring, high ceilings as well as queen-size beds with mosquito netting. Both suites have a garden bathroom and guests can take a bath or shower in a semi-open tropical setting. You’ll also have your own flat-screen TV and DVD player, plus a veranda with a lounger and reading chair.
The open-sided principal living area, with its two-tier roof and coconut pillars, provides the hub of this luxury Bali villa. With cool cream, terrazzo flooring it’s ideal for entertaining or relaxing.
Large local ornaments including a large Buddha statue, vases of tropical flowers and a collection of antiques ensure a cozy and comfortable interior, whilst large ceiling fans cool the space. Bamboo blinds can also be lowered depending on the day’s tropical heat.
The study room features a flat-screen satellite TV and a DVD player. And the Bose surround-sound system extends music to the dining room, living room as well as the bale outside. A wall-length bookshelf contains a vast selection of books, games and puzzles, plus a CD and DVD collection. A fishpond surrounds the study with carved stone spouts.
Stepping-stones allow guests to cross the pond to the dining room where an elevated area accommodates eight guests. It’s enclosed on three sides by timber-framed glass doors through which guests can admire some of the most serene views or look upon the frangipanis close by and listen to the singing river.
A wall panel, hand-carved by local artists, separates the dining room from a fully equipped kitchen and a marble breakfast bar with two stools.
The sights and sounds and smells of Bali can all be experienced at Pangi Gita. Waking early to the sound of tropical birds or listening to local farmers in the nearby fields will take you a long way away from the stresses and strains of life back home. And then of course the tastes of Bali can be experienced in the villa’s kitchen or in any number of fabulous restaurants and cafes that dot the landscape and beachfront.
A favorite spot of many guests seems to be the green stone pool where the garden meets the river. You have several loungers here, shaded by bright red umbrellas or you can always lie back altogether in the bale. And if you really need some privacy then the single lounger on the timber decking overlooking the rapids is the spot you need.
