The biggest tourist destination is the beach at Seminyak for it has awe-inspiring panoramic coastline, surf breaks and sunset. Beautifully designed Nirwana Golf Course by Greg Norman is just 25 minutes drive while the Umalas Riding is almost less than two kilometers. Surrounded with shopping malls and other tourist spots, the villa is only thirty minutes trip from the Bali International airport.
The narrow country lane is the way that paves the entrance to the villa through the rice fields via large courtyards along with outsized parking lounge. The garden is imbibed with a lotus pond.
To glorify the Indonesian tradition villa Senja is perfectly decorated by the owner himself with the touch of love and effort. The villa is the conglomeration of Javanese, Chinese, French, Chinese and colonial style. The three buildings are constructed with ironwood shingle roofs and teakwood and timber floors. The five bedrooms each of 25 and 30 square meters have their own characteristics combined with bathrooms with bathtub and shower and balcony or terrace with a hammock.
The hall comprises of Chinese furniture and the entire building is based on Chinese theme and the guests will enter the central building through a narrow entrance hall. The doorway takes them to the salon of 54 square meters around an antique Javanese, Joglo house.
Living & Dining area
The entrance is through a narrow hall and it presents before the guests a mind blowing Chinese ambience with the Chinese artifacts and designs. The wide path leads to the salon for refreshment and it is 54 square meters, built around the joglo house. The elegantly constructed wooden structure without any use of bolts and metallic nails has elaborate hand designs and wooden pillars. The library is there on the upper part of the salon and has Indonesian artifacts and piano. The living and dining room has Javanese lanterns, wooden floors, ceiling floors and cushion seating. There is a huge dining table beside the kitchen to accommodate a large family. From the folded antique doors of wood and glass that opens onto 3.5 x 11 meters one can have a clear view of the swimming pool and the garden. The extension of the salon has terrace which is like tiled verandah with wooden pillars and balustrades. The villa creates a beautiful ambience with cool breeze, ceiling fans and wider roofs doubling the living space.
The kitchen is fully furnished and equipped with rustic arrangements and comfy feeling. The farmhouse kitchen has thick walls and tiled floors of terracotta. The antique lintels, wooden doorframes, ceiling fan and table is best suited for enjoying conversations over a cup of coffee. There is a small kitchen within the courtyard surrounded by half wall with short steps. There is an opening with French doors of glass panels onto the garden terrace. The place is beset with pergola alight with pink and orange bougainvillea and weatherworn bench.
The highly spacious bedrooms are inundated with air conditioned bedrooms with teak floorboards and queen size beds with diaphanous draperies. It is located on the ground floor of the two storied building. The high ceiling has open beams and the windows are protected by wooden Javanese shutters and the walls are decorated with colored cement. The verandah is in a colonial style with a clear view of the garden and the pool. The floor of the verandah is made of traditional patterned tiles under a roof that is supported by wooden pillars. There is another set of doors that lead to the garden bathroom which has cement bathtubs and washbasins. The wooden floor is widened to the pebbled courtyard with beautiful plants over the garden walls. There is ample storage space because of in built alcoves and shelving. The toilet is fitted to one corner behind a wall and the shower cubicle is surrounded by wooden material.
The air conditioned bedroom is located downstairs in the side building that has four beds and a wide cushioned seat built by the inspiration of mughals. The terrace of the verandah imitates the style of the old colonial Javanese house. The unique feature of the property is the en suited bathrooms. It has hand carved wooden structure of ancient Joglo (Javanese house) along with the beautiful framework window panels of an old Javanese mosque. The bathroom which is a form of bay window is plagued with wooden ceiling, octagonal sunken bathtub along with rain shower.
The air conditioned bedroom has casement windows and a queen size bed with muslin drapery. The balcony of the room provides excellent mind soothing view of the rice fields and garden. There is also the availability of extra beds if necessary. The bathroom is furnished with boldly colored cement walls will carved wall panel. The floorboards are made of warm antique timbers; a bathtub is there with wooden surrounding. There is another toilet that is hidden within a recess. But the colored glass windows enhance the beauty of the entire scenario.
The large air conditioned bedroom is located upstairs beleaguered with casement windows and wooden shutters in addition to open beams, high roof and profusion of light. Beautifully decorated with queen size bed, traditional furniture, cushioned bed seat, alcove d bookshelves, white walls have initiated the popularity of the property. The best feature of the wide balcony is the French doors. The balcony is bordered by wooden balustrade and very close to the excellent view of the flame tree giving high opportunity to view the stunning sceneries. An old fashioned bed is best suited for relaxing with a book and fresh breezes. The interior decorating is well appreciated because of the en suite bathroom. The plum colored cement walls and all the antique designs and materials create typical romanticism in the atmosphere. The over sized cement bath is imitating the free standing tub of 1930s. Moreover it is harmonized by a white pedestal washbasin, comic painting, oval mirror, antique floorboards. The shelves are fitted to store things and the toilet is located at a distance around a corner.
Guest Bungalow & Bedroom 5
The fully furnished guest bungalow is very close to the main building and houses. The air conditioned bedroom, garden bathroom and dressing room plays a vital role. The bungalow is designed with wrap around terrace with antique daybeds, Javanese marriage beds, lazy chairs and hammocks. The colonial doors are inspired from an old house in Java and especially the wooden window shutters accentuate the colonial ambience. The bedroom has a queen size bed, an oriental rug and an old desk. The most noted feature of the villa is the cushioned window seat within the mughal style alcove below a pitched roof. The white walls have beautiful paintings collected from all over the world. The shelves offer great convenience to display books and ornaments.
The dressing room is situated between the en suite bathrooms and bedroom along with the separate bathroom. It is complete with colored glass windows and there is sunny bathroom in the garden taking pride on freestanding tub, Palimanan stone walls and Arabic stone windows. To portray the Moroccan theme there is a shower cubicle with wooden background. The garden beside the bathroom is decorated with the plantation of hibiscus and Dadap Merah tree.
Garden & Pool Area
The pool of the property is 25 meters in depth and 17*6 meters in are and it is rowed with Java stones and it is bordered by woods. It is located in the front of the main living room with verandah and at the back there are paddy fields. The shape of the pool follows the curves of the rice fields. The area is beautifully embellished with sun beds, hammock and umbrella. At the bottom of the garden there is the wooden Javanese house which was once transported and then again rebuilt. Apart from the toilet, washroom it can also be used as small fitness centers and also a good space for hang outs. The garden takes pride in the beautiful collection of various flowers and trees like Kapok, fig, breadfruit, flamboyant, orchids, fruits and many other such shrubs.
